Train on some of the rarest equipment in the world, in an environment built for people who genuinely love training.
An exclusive capped membership gym, full of people who actually support you. Not a packed room full of headphones and strangers.
Whether you’re a competitive powerlifter, a bodybuilder, someone who simply wants to look good and feel good, or a lifter who wants to fast-track progress you’ll fit right in here.
A quick look inside the space before you see it for yourself.
Every decision we make comes back to these principles.
Membership is capped at 300. No waiting for equipment, no rearranging your life around peak hour.
IPF-approved racks, calibrated plates and top-end machines from Prime, Atlantis, Nautilus and Cybex, backed by a $1,000+ weekly upgrade budget.
All training levels welcome. Competitive athletes and first-timers train side by side and hold each other to a higher standard.
Filming, chalk, training your way. You'll never be made to feel like you're in the wrong place.
If the machine you programmed is in use, you ask to work in and get it done. You'll never swap to a worse exercise because someone got there first.
We were too. So we built something different.
HUSLA was founded by Jason and Anthea through a shared passion for strength training and a belief that the environment you train in matters. With more than 25 years of combined lifting experience, we've trained in just about every type of gym imaginable. While every gym had something to offer, we kept noticing the same frustrations - overcrowded spaces, equipment that wasn't chosen with the lifter in mind, and the belief that a lack of community and respect for the space was simply the norm.
That's why we created HUSLA. A gym with industry-leading equipment, a capped membership to prioritise your training experience, and a community that genuinely supports one another. An environment where people of all experience levels feel welcome, challenged and inspired to become stronger.
Co-Founder
Jason has been strength training for over 15 years and has spent much of that time competing in powerlifting, holding multiple Australian records throughout his career. Through years of lifting, competing and coaching, he's developed an obsession with biomechanics and equipment, and that passion shapes everything on the HUSLA gym floor. If there's a machine to analyse, modify or improve, chances are Jason has already thought about it.
His passion for equipment has even led him to develop products such as the HUSLA Pad, now used by lifters around the world, driven by the belief that great equipment can make great training even better.
Co-Founder
Anthea has been strength training for over a decade, with experience spanning bikini bodybuilding, powerlifting, and coaching hundreds of clients to build strength, improve body composition and develop confidence in the gym. As the founder of Thrive Stronger Coaching and co-founder of HUSLA, she's dedicated her career to helping people experience the life-changing benefits of strength training.
For Anthea, the gym has always been about far more than just physique alone. It's about the confidence you build, the resilience you develop, the friendships you make, and the positive impact training can have on your mental, physical and social wellbeing.
Together, they set out to create a gym that feels like a second home. Where people genuinely look forward to showing up, and become part of something bigger than just a gym.
Book your free tourFor years, we trained in overcrowded rooms with average equipment and no atmosphere. You start to think you’re losing motivation. You start cutting sessions short.
The environment is the problem. The environment at HUSLA makes it easy to show up and want to be there.
One thing I underestimated for years was the impact the people around me had on my training. When you train somewhere nobody takes it seriously, it's easy to become one of them.
"Then one day you walk into a gym where everyone around you is pushing themselves. People are chasing goals. Training with intent. Holding themselves to a higher standard. And suddenly, training feels different."
Not because you changed. Because the environment pulls more out of you. That's the culture we've built at HUSLA.
Such an awesome gym. The owner is so genuine and the space is filled out with such unique pieces of equipment. I'd be proud as if this was my club! If you train hard and take lifting seriously defs the best place to come!
This is the best gym in Melbourne by far. The community and culture here is genuinely strong, the equipment is impeccable, each piece is the best of the best. This gym has changed the trajectory of my training journey. Would recommend to anyone, anyday.
The best machines, a clean space, and a community that respects what has been created for them. A gym made for lifters. Staff are always friendly and familiar, the owner is always around and talking to members.
A new take on premium training environments. Music? Check. Equipment quality? Check. Cleanliness? Double check. Amazing, welcoming owners who care and assist with knowledge and training queries. Not to mention the great vibes. 10/10.
The atmosphere is welcoming and motivating, the trainers are genuinely lovely and amazing with people, and the equipment is top-range, some of the best I've trained with. The space is respectful, very clean, and has the best amenities I've seen at a gym.
I've been here for a few months and have been extremely impressed with the facilities, equipment and how welcoming the owners/members all are. It's refreshing to come to a gym that focuses on the quality of its member experiences.
Biomechanics matter. Bad equipment is holding your physique back.
Most gyms tolerate powerlifters. We cater to them.
You don't need to be a competitive athlete to train like one.
No peak times. No waiting. No compromises.
Most gyms buy a bit of everything. We buy exactly what our members need.
Have a proper look at the floor before you come in.
No. HUSLA is for everyone. All training levels train side by side, and the community backs you either way.
We show you around, walk you through the equipment, and you train for a free session so you can feel the difference yourself.
HUSLA is a by appointment facility, so we're unable to take walk-ins. Get in touch before coming down and we'll lock in a time that suits you.
You join the priority waitlist and we work through it as memberships become available.
The only way to truly understand the difference is to experience it in person. Book a free walkthrough and trial session below. We'll show you around, walk you through the equipment, and let the gym speak for itself.
